CRP
C-Reactive Protein (CRP) test is a blood test done to reveal the chronic inflammation in the body.
X-RAY CHEST
It is an imaging test done to look at the heart, lungs and bones of the chest region.
HbA1c
It is also termed glycosylated haemoglobin. It helps to determine the amount of blood sugar attached to haemoglobin over the past 2-3 months. People with high blood sugar levels may be prone to asthma.
VITAMIN PROFILE
Vitamins can be associated with asthma. An imbalance in various vitamins may show poor asthma control and may increase the severity of asthma.
PFT
This is done to find out how well your lungs are functioning and your breathing capacity. It is helpful to find the overall capacity of the lungs to carry oxygen.
Everything you need to know
For pulmonary function test (PFT) there are a few steps that you need to follow-
- If you are already taking asthma medicines, stop taking them 4 hours before the test.
- Do not smoke and consume alcohol for at least 4 hours before the test.
- Avoid wearing tight clothes for the test.
